Nobres lies approximately 140 kilometers north of Cuiabá, Capital of Mato Grosso, in the savanna region, and its line stone formation congregates countless natural attractions, like caves (at present closed to visitors), crystal-clear rivers and waterfalls. The main activities are walks, floating in different rivers and bathing under beautiful waterfalls.

Its origin lies in the shadow of three allotments: Banana, Francisco Noble and small bridge (Pontezinha). The term Noble, used in the plural, means people of noble family: the Nobles. Therefore, it is tribute to the family of Mr.. Francis Noble, owner of one of the allotments that originated the town.

The movement in the region is quite old, being the route of passage between Cuiabá, Rosario West and Diamantino, from the time of onset of colonization and discovery of gold deposits and diamonds. Then in the last century, the region came to include mining of limestone and cement factories, like the Portland SA and Votorantim (cement ITAU). Just recently, about four or five years, is that the beauty of Nobles began to attract attention of businessmen and entrepreneurs of tourism, changing the economic scenario from Nobles.

ACTIVITIES

Activities are held near the town of Bom Jardim, a small village that is part of the county of Noble, located about 50 km from the city.
